A smalltown businessman and local despot becomes unhinged when his only daughter takes up with a boy from the "wrong side of the tracks" on the night he is to be awarded businessman of the year.

SYNOPSIS:

Stage play (from film). Plans are underway for the old man's big night, when a boy comes sniffing around the only daughter's residence. As they plan to break away, encouraged by a sympathetic cousin, the family confronts its past secrets, leading to a fight between boy, father, and daughter.
