Josema Hernandez was born in Puerto Rico. He is an Executive Producer of television and events and owner of Creative Media Group, a production company based in Puerto Rico and Los Angeles California. He has a Bachelor degree in Audiovisual Communications Technology and has a Masters degree in Business Entertainment from the prestigious University of Full Sail in Orlando, FL.
Josema has worked with major talents from many disciplines. Some of his collaborators include Lauren Velez (Dexter, Oz, Ugly Betty), James Manos (producer, writer and creator of Dexter, The Sopranos, The Shield), Lymari Nadal (American Gangster, Battlestar Galactica), Selenis Leyva (Orange is The New Black), Yamil Urena (Extant), amongst other celebrities.
In 2006 he began working for Acisum Group, a Puerto Rican company that produces events, TV and handles the management of artists. At Acisum Group he had the opportunity to collaborate in the productions of “Don Omar King of Kings”, “Don Omar Symphonico”, “Elvis Crespo 10th Aniversary of (Suavemente)”, “Discovery Kids / LazyTown” and lastly “Atención, Atención”.
In 2010 Josema was in charge of the entire production of The Central American Games (XXI Central American & Caribbean Games), and in 2011 he began working as an Executive Producer for Univision Puerto Rico.
At Univision Puerto Rico he was in charge of local programming beginning with The Morning Show until The Late Night Show. The programs that he produced included: Tu Mañana, ASF, Locas de Atar, Flashazo VIP, La Hora del Chavo, Rubén & Co, Noche Ilegal, Viva la Risa and En el Lente del Ojo Publico, the latter was winner of 16 Emmy Awards. In 2014 he achieved an exclusive with an interview of Michelle Knight, one of the three Cleveland females who was kidnapped by Ariel Castro and survived a decade of imprisonment and torture. For this story Josema’s won an Over Seas Press Club and is now nominated for an Emmy in the News Producer category.
Josema Hernandez is currently working on the expansion of his company and on projects of international caliber; he is currently the Executive Producer of the Sitcom “ESTOS DOS” which is transmitted through Telemundo Puerto Rico, the #1 TV Network in Puerto Rico. He is co-producer with former Simpsons producer Bill Schultz of a full-length animated feature set in South American & written by former Disney Creative Vice-President, Gregory Gunter.
Most recently, Univision Puerto Rico hired Josema to produce a late night show, consisting of political satire, comedy, and entertainment, among other topical content.
