About Aaron

Aaron Cassara is a Brooklyn-based, Chicago-born filmmaker. As the founder of Solipsistic Pictures, Aaron was interested in the moving image from a young age and pursued a career in film because of his passion for storytelling, the medium's ability to shine light on the different aspects of the everyday world, and the collaborative nature of the filmmaking process. Following his graduation from Columbia College, his short film, "Barista", went to several film festivals, including Sarasota and Hollyshorts, after winning Audience Choice in its monthly screening series. Since then, Aaron has directed and produced such projects as the documentary short, "The Hardest Working Man...In Shoe Business", as well as the short film "Out to Dry", which premiered at the NewFilmmakers NY festival. Aaron has been freelancing in television, film, and video for 11 years, with five feature screenplays in different stages of development. More than anything else, he thrives on working with people from all different walks of life, and enjoys coming together to uncover the most effective way to convey the story.
