A young girl living in Imperial Japan struggles against societal expectations and political expectations on women and children in this fascist regime.  

SYNOPSIS:

In 1945, a group of girls known as the "himeyuri" were students in Okinawa who, along with their teachers, were forced to be army nurses at the Battle of Okinawa. This historical drama doesn't focus on the war, but on the growth of the protagonist, Megumi, as she finds her voice in a world of oppression.
