A boy of ten and a his sister of six years upon learning of the death of their parents, walk across the field to a distant lake. On his island, as their father said, there lives a magical dwarf who can fulfill any desires. They want to ask the gnome to revive their parents. On the way they meet different people who, based on the stories of his father, supposedly designed to confuse the road to the magic gnome. At the cost of great difficulties they reach the lake. But is there one for the meeting with which they have come this hard way? Is it possible to find salvation in it or is it another wreck of childhood illusions?

The script is written on the basis of the same story by Amir Makoyev, one of the brightest representatives of the genre magical realism in Russia, a member of the Writers' Union of Russia.
