About Michael

Michael Schaar-Ney has experience in all facets of the filmmaking industry. He wrote, directed and
acted in the award-winning short film Mind Games.
He is also a co-writer and associate producer for the feature-length film John, 316.
Michael has recently finished 2 short films, one that is just finishing it's festival run, the other just starting.
The Moustache has been seen around the world, and has won many laurels, including Programmer's Choice; Best Alberta short at the Edmonton International Film Festival.
The Test, is the proof of concept short for the feature length script of the same name. the screenplay was recently a semi-finalist in Stage 32's 4th annual Feature Screenplay contest, and the short film is currently entered in their short film contest.

Michael is currently in pre-production for his project entitled Motel 13, in which he has secured a very strong cast to support this dialogue driven thriller.
