Darrel Mayers

I am a soundtrack composer living in Austin, Texas. As part of Motes Float Aloft I wrote and performed the score for "Law Abiding Angels,'" which won the Best International Film category at the Indonesian Film Festival. I grew up in the countryside of England, and when I work I tend to favor organic sounds and played instruments. Recently I wrote the music for "The Art of Flying," a short movie by Jan van Ijken about the gatherings and dance ("murmuration") of starlings against an evening sky in Holland. While I may favor organic sounds, I am very flexible and am willing to venture into any soundscape or journey that helps the director tell her/his movie story.
