About David

After serving fours years in the US Marine Corps, David began his business career in the entertainment industry in 1997 starting up a company called “Combat Casting” casting actual military, law enforcement, and firefighting personnel on TV and Films.

Combat Casting’s success spread rapidly through the film industry and led to another company just one year later, Networks Casting Services. For the next five years, Networks Casting Services managed and booked over 400 extras daily, and was one of the premier extras’ management companies in Los Angeles. In 2003 David sold Networks Casting Services, and joined the ranks at one of Hollywood’s elite boutique extras casting companies, Background Players as Office Manager. Under his management, Background Players cast background actors for the feature films Mr. Woodcock, Balls of Fury, World Trade Center, Disturbia, and Rent.
Just after 18 months of managing Background Players, and with the blessing of the owners of Background Players, David went on his own and established yet another company, David Kang Casting. The budding company’s first job was booking all the extras and specialty performers in Brett Ratner’s “Rush Hour 3”.

In 2006 David launched a principal division of David Kang Casting, booking actors on commercials such as American Express, BMW, Budweiser, Intel, Johnson and Johnson, McDonalds, T-Mobile, Walmart to name a few. and Casting for such artists as Black Eyed Peas, Bob Dylan, Britney Spears, David Bowie, Enrique Iglesias, Justin Bieber, Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Mariah Carey, Pink, Rod Stewart, Taylor Swift, and Usher.

Now, David Kang Casting is one of the industry’s biggest music video and commercial casting companies around, casting hundreds of music videos and commercials and working with over 60 directors and 40 producers.

Despite the demands of owning and running his own businesses, David has found time to produce 4 feature films and 2 TV show. He’s a member of the Producers Guild of America and always looking for more opportunities to make films and TV. David also is founder and chair of a 501(c)3 nonprofit “Project LACE” (Loving Abandoned Children Everywhere) dedicated to helping end poverty, loneliness, and neglect of children everywhere. David and Project LACE have taken teams of medical personal to Haiti, Cambodia, Brazil, and Dominican Republic. Project LACE has brought more then $500,000.00 in medicine to these countries and treated over 5000 patients.
