THE PRE-GAME

THE PRE-GAME
By David Anthony Butler

GENRE: Comedy
LOGLINE: A standard pre-game session turns chaotic as the party before the party threatens to ruin the planned night out.

SYNOPSIS:

Friends and roommates, Taj and Martin prepare for company for a pre-game session before heading out to the bar to celebrate Taj’s “girlfriend’s” birthday. Girlfriend, a title which Taj has yet to truly acknowledge, and a constant debate point for Martin, is put to the test when a chance meeting of a sexy new neighbor in the laundry room changes the plans of the night. The boys also run into their apartment complex nemesis’ who vow that they are the ultimate party host of the building. The more guest to show up the more complex the night gets as the plan changes from trying to have people in their house, to surviving until they can get them all out. Bringing extra chaos to the evening is the introduction of Kris, Taj’s younger brother. Kris himself is not the problem, but his crazy, stalker of a girlfriend is most definitely an issue. Being faithful is never an issue for Kris, because he never really tries. The emergence of Johnny Red and his blonde floozies puts Kris right into his comfortable zone, cheating. The more shots poured the more dramatic the night becomes and Taj and Martin struggle to keep it all going until it’s time to leave. A night like this proves that sometimes, the pre-game can end up being the main event.
