Not just playing a cowboy in films, Jay Pennington was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas and now lives in the Texas hill-country on acreage surrounded by cattle ranches not too far away from legendary Luckenbach, Texas. For films and for pleasure Jay rides horses weekly.
Jay's acting career began when he was asked to participate with the Texas Wild Bunch gunslinger reenactment group that often works as extras in Westerns. Always a student of film once the opportunity opened for an agent and film & television roles, Jay has pursued the dream diligently. When they aren't making Westerns, at 6'3 with long gray/brown hair, Jay often gets the grittier principal roles of blackmailer, hit man, bank robbing gang leader, biker... always fun but those characters never seem to have a love scene!
Besides living the Old West and his passion for acting, Jay is also an active independent software developer. Jay has worked at NASA some years ago and now does hi-tech pet rescue via website database systems he has developed resulting in hundreds of success stories of lost pets returned home or saved from the pound.
