GUSTAVO RUBEN VALENZUELA


Gustavo Ruben Valenzuela was born on March 2nd of 1965 in La Plata, Argentina Republic, as the first son in a middle class family of a school teacher and a hospital operators' heating system.


As most of the Argentineans, he carries with pride his father's names: 'Ruben Valenzuela' and it's a conscious choice to use all of his three real names as his trade mark signature; as in his artistic work, as he also does in his every day private life.


Gustavo grew with that feeling that there was a huge world to be discovered and explored and that his country was so far away from the rest of the planet! More and more he focused his attention on Europe, where he felt the diversity of cultures living closely to each other, different languages and ways of living were exactly where he wanted to be.


At an early stage, his life becomes a fight for his idealisms, dreams and surviving the facts of reality. He combined Finance, working in different kind of jobs with Theater and Improvisation and Social Communication and Journalism at the University of La Plata.



He managed though, to attend the Theater Institute 'Escuela de Teatro La Plata' from 1982 till 1985 learning acting and improvisation techniques on stage in evening courses.



As his own signs, being a 'Pisces' and a 'Snake' according to the Chinese, his life is being dedicated to art, oil painting, modelling, shinning on a stage as an actor and on the other much rational side, doing Finances on different job opportunities.



He believes that any kind of art starts with the heart. Passion is the essential ingredient! Acting is a transformation, it takes imagination to think alike, how it would be to be in someone's skin, it's a process when you start acting like and feeling comfortable being, then you start becoming. If I believe it, then you start believing!


Gustavo is currently living in Amsterdam, a great place to feel at home!



Among his most remarkable work, he has worked on;

January/April 2018- Supporting role as the Argentinian drugs dealer Enrico Borges in the feature film 'FORGET TO DIE'

March 2018- Supporting role as a Spanish reporter in the drama action feature film 'DE BOODSCHAP'

January 2018- Supporting role as the academic intellectual professor John Togg in the feature tecnothriller film 'ESCAPE FROM BRASIL' ('ESCAPE DO BRAZIL')
August 2017- Lead role as Louis in the short black-comedy film winner of 'best audience choise award' and winner of 'best male actor''INTRUS'

April/May 2017- Supporting Role as ' Mario' in the feature film 'CAPO DI FAMIGLIA' selected for screening at the Den Haag Film festival 2018.

March 2017- Role as 'Peter, from Accounting' for the TV serie 'ECHT NIET OK' of TV network KRO-NCRV.

November/December 2016- Role as Police detective for the TV serie 'SMERIS 3' of TV network BNN.

August 2016- Role as Mo in the 'best cinematography 2016' winnar and nominated 'best male actor' 'TAKHIL' on the One Week Film Project.

March 2016- Photoshoot for the ADOBE/FOTOLIA campaign 'BUSINESSMAN ALONE IN THE POLDER' by photographer Benny van de Werfhorst

December 2015/January 2016- Internet Spot commercial for JABA TALKS produced by Tess Video Productions

October 2015- 'STRONG ONES' a video clip of the world known Dutch DJ ARMIN VAN BUUREN ; music video produced by Soulvizion creative.

October 2015- TV Spot commercial for MEDIAPLAYER X9 transmitted on AT5 and RTV NH channels

September/October 2015- Pilot for the Belgium TV Series ‘SNAPSHOT’ 'Door eigen vergif geveld, begin van het geweld' Episode 1: 'THE NACHT VAN DE SKORPIOEN' produced, screenplay and direction by STEF DEGROOTE

May 2015- Role as French soldier in the theater plays 'KINGS OF WAR', TONEEL GROUP AMSTERDAM directed by IVO VAN HOVE

2014- Main role as victim in the police reconstruction of the TV program 'OPSPORING VERZOCHT' transmitted on NED3

2013- Internet commercial for insurance company 'INTERPOLIS' campaign 'De Oplossing van'

2003- Role in the theater play 'LES LIAISONS DANGEREUSES’ by Christopher Hampton adapted from the novel by Choderlos de Laclos, directed by JAY BORG.

He is currently available to work as actor and model in film, tv, commercials and photography.
