I am a self-motivated 42-year-old writer, originally from Manchester and now based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Over the years, I’ve cultivated a diverse range of hobbies, including reading, football, and motor racing. While much of the time once dedicated to these pursuits is now shared with raising my two children, writing has remained a lifelong passion. My journey as a writer began in primary school with “The Cow That Went to London” and continued with a poem at fifteen about a family weekend in Blackpool, which garnered rave reviews and earned the title “Poem of the Week.” Writing and creating have always come naturally to me. In my early twenties—a time that feels like a lifetime ago—I turned my creative energy toward music and lyrics, honing a talent that many admired. Yet, a voice in my head kept urging me to write a screenplay, and once I did, I couldn’t stop. The thrill of nurturing a spark of an idea into something greater is unmatched, and completing a screenplay brings a sense of fulfillment second to none, surpassing even the satisfaction of hearing my own music played aloud. Writing screenplays allows me to explore other worlds, and I feel privileged to share those worlds with others through my work.
