KEYS TO U.S - 1812
By Ian Doyle

GENRE: Historical, Drama
LOGLINE:

Fitzgerald Scott Key tells us of a man in 1812 who sacrificed his identity to prevent a national secret from governing the outcome of a forgotten war

SYNOPSIS:

As Napoleon’s Army fight Britain in the great war of 1812, another country is in more danger of losing its independence than either of those two mighty opponents. On the verge of a second revolutionary war between America and Britain, one man holds the key to freedom. Samuel Wilson – escapes to the city after his parent’s untimely death; escapes his isolated existence in the wide American plains. Sets about making a name for himself, and is soon knee deep in mud, digging to make a living. After a declaration of war, Samuel's determination to succeed is fuelled by a partnership with Aaron Burr, the vice president. Aaron seeks to prevent Americans from becoming prisoners in their own country and believes war is necessary to exercise their right to be free - the right that Americans had won in the war of Independence. But Aaron believes that he must dictate those rights and govern the country according to how he sees fit. And he has obtained the opportunity to do so through an association with Napoleon that dates back to the Louisiana purchase. When he meets Samuel he recognises a connection that provides him the opportunity to gain power over his country and invites Samuel into his world.

In order to stop Aaron and save his country from dictatorship, the independent Samuel Wilson is guided by a humble seamstress to learn Bravery from the First Lady, action from a Canadian Heroine, and humility through his parents legacy.
