Shannon Pauline Balstad

I am a recent graduate with a lifelong passion for film complimented by extensive experience in marketing, writing, and networking. My creative albeit analytical and critical mind was most recently put to use as a Marketing Representative for Sony Pictures Entertainment through Allied Integrated Marketing. During that time, I attended press events, hosted talent, worked in conjunction with the online news forum Bustle, developed social media advertisements, worked under the direction of Alex Savittieri (Manager at SPE ), and developed, organized, and coordinated promotional events for upcoming film releases from the studio. While I thrive in marketing due to my natural and proficient abilities to network and communicate, I hope to revisit the pre and Post-production work I completed during college. Throughout my time at the University of Minnesota, I covered several roles, including director, editor, screenwriter, floor director, production coordinator, photographer, casting director, and producer. Last summer I had the opportunity to put the titles of producer, assistant director, script supervisor and costume desginer to use in a professional capacity as a team member at CrashDown productions for the 48 Hr Film Festival.
