About Maureen

Maureen is a Chicago based actor with credits on NBC's Chicago Fire as well as a number of independent film projects including Love & Zombies (which garnered her a Best Actress in a Horror Short nomination at the Chicago Horror Film Festival), Spoiled Fruit, Not a Superhero, Psychomanteum, Other People's Heads, and Keep Looking.

Some of her favourite theatre credits include Sarah Jane Moore (Assassins, directed by Lavina Jadhwani), Isobel (BULL), Col. George Latimer (What Happened in Pinkville?, directed by James Bohnen), Tess Goode (The Sisters Rosensweig), Thea (Spring Awakening, directed by Damon Kiely), Our Lady of the Spa (NINE), and understudying the roles of Damsel and Lily in Soon I Will Be Invincible directed by Paul Holmquist at Lifeline Theatre.

When not acting Maureen enjoys swimming, crocheting, hand lettering, reading comic books, video gaming, practicing dialects and accents, dog sitting, watching the Chicago Cubs, and eating delicious delicacies invented by her other half Jedi Master Flynn [who is an amazing chef].

Maureen holds and MFA in Acting from The Theatre School at DePaul University, a BFA in Musical Theatre from Sam Houston State University (TX), and an 'accidental' AA (opera concentration) from Northwestern State University in Louisiana -- seriously, ask her about it sometime!

Born in Germany, she is also fluent in German, speaks a little French and is currently teaching herself Italian and Irish. She is a skilled dancer of several styles including ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, and swing. As a child she trained as a gymnast which helped her earn her 24-hour aerial yoga certification. She is also a Certified Actor Combatant through the Society of American Fight Directors proficient in unarmed combat, rapier & dagger, smallsword, and quarterstaff.

Over the years Maureen has had the privilege to train with some stage and screen greats such as Ben Vereen (Jesus Christ Superstar, Pippin), Terrence Mann (CATS, Beauty and the Beast), and Nancy Dessault (The New Dick Van Dyke Show). She has also studied with more contemporary artists like Susan Misner (Gossip Girl, The Americans), Abigail Spencer (True Detective, Gray's Anatomy), Patrick Heusinger (Girlfriend's Guide to Divorce, Absentia), Jordan Belfi (Entourage, Chicago Fire), and Monica Raymund (Lie to Me, Chicago Fire).

Currently, she is writing a solo performance show (Songs I Will Never Sing on Broadway - working title), a few pilot treatments, setting up a podcast, and making inventory for her etsy shop while working as a freelance makeup artist.
