About Barbara
As the adoptive Jewish mom of an. African American son, Barbara has always been interested in the intersection of Black and Jewish cultures and has explored coming of age and father son themes in several screenplay projects--both comedy and drama--that resonate across cultural differences. Her brief but passionate stints in stand up comedy and boxing let her write from an insider's persepctive into those respective worlds and create memorable characters and stories that speak to a wide audience regardless of where they are from.
