A true story of a 4 year-old orphaned, Van Choat, who survives near death from Viet Cong (twice) during the Viet Nam war, unwelcomed step family protection, sexual abuse, loneliness and hunger. Then, at 14 years old, escapes to America during the fall of Saigon.

Van finally finds happiness with man of her dreams, and a family of her own having two children.  But tragically her husband dies of bone cancer at age 27, leaving Van a young 25 year old, widowed, raising her sons.  “Undaunted” Van raises her two sons, goes on to achieve her BA Degree in Business Administration and her MBA  in Finance.  Today, at age 57, owning her own home  in Manhattan Beach, Van has a successful executive management position for the Department of the Airforce.
