LOGLINE:

A pool hustler is cheated out of his tournament winnings and loses his fiancé all by the hands of his ex partner. Now he faces a rematch in order to get his pride, his woman, and his money back.

SYNOPSIS:

Charlie Pockets is a pool hustler living in Las Vegas, NV. He leaves his fiancé Foxy Nails in hopes for winning a tournament that pays $100K. Foxy, wanting a family with Charlie, is met with a man who chooses the hustle over a future.

Driving to California in a Nissan Z28, He is seated with his hustling partner Whitey Dodge. Charlie and Whitey make it to the tournament in California and meet up with Whitey’s associates: Wilson “8-ball” Chalk, Maximillian “Racks” Giuseppe, Lee “Crazy Eyes” Leeds, and Long time friend Brick Halper. Charlie doesn’t realize that Whitey has bought all the players in the tournament.

Charlie wins the tournament, and out of jealousy and frustration Whitey and his associates beat his money out of him by the hands of their pool cue sticks. Charlie is beat, defeated and penniless.

One year later Charlie is working as a welder when Brick Halper comes to talk to him. Brick discusses that Whitey has kidnapped Foxy. Since Brick has been blacklisted as a crook on the books in every pool hall on the west coast he pays Charlie 5K to get back into pool hustling in order to face Whitey. Charlie gets to work on facing Whitey. In the midst of hustling, Charlie makes about 20K and uses it to face Slim, a long time player who played Charlie’s father and him for many years. They hustle a one game battle, to which Charlie wins and doubles his profit.

Across the way Whitey demonstrates his firepower for those that double-cross him. He shoots 8-ball in the head with his rifle cue stick, and kills him.

Charlie in the same pool hall is met with lawman Adam Diamond, who sees Charlie’s efforts into fighting Whitey. Adam has been trying to find Whitey for quite some time on account of Whitey’s murder and racketeering charges.

Adam, Brick, and Charlie head to Adam’s house to come up with a plan to meet Whitey, as Brick reveals his location. They head to Whitey’s for the confrontation. Whitey shoots Charlie’s pool arm, rendering it useless.

It’s a blood bath where Whitey, Charlie, Adam, and Foxy are still standing. Whitey escapes from the police, while Charlie and Foxy are rushed to the hospital by Adam. From their recovery procedures, Adam uses Charlie’s $40K to cover the cost both his and Foxy’s medical bills. Adam takes both Charlie and Foxy back to Adam’s house for them to get back on their feet.

Charlie reassess his situation and blames Brick for double-crossing him. Charlie and Adam try to figure out what to do about Charlie, when brick shows up to Adam’s door. Brick is met with Hostility from both Adam and Charlie; only to reveal that Brick has returned Charlie’s money back from Whitey. The tree of them devise a plan that will arrest Whitey and lock him up for good. They know that Whitey needs money, so they devise a way to advertise a fake tournament with a Prize of one million dollars. With Charlie’s 100K, he uses it to buy players like Whitey did when they first got to California. Brick leaves to start a new life.

At the tournament Whitey shows up disguised as someone else…and so does Brick. During the tournament as Whitey is about to take home the trophy he is confronted with Charlie, Adam, Brick, Foxy, and a team of police. Whitey in his rage aims for Charlie with his rifle cue stick, but Brick blocks the shot with his body. The police arrest Whitey and take him to jail. Brick doesn’t make it

At the funeral, Brick is remembered but not forgotten, as everyone separates to start their own lives away from the hustle. Charlie is awaken to Foxy as they walk into the sunset discussing starting a family.
