About John

As a Kid I grew up around hi-end audio, as my Dad was a self-professed audiophile. I was listening to electrostatic speakers before I could spell them. He was also a musician (singer/violin/mandolin), so it was only natural I started recording myself playing trumpet and guitar on a UHER tape recorder in my teens. This led to a life as a working musician, followed by an audio engineer, producer, videographer, video editor, and lastly a web designer. I could go into how I worked part time at the studio owner's typographic shop that led into that, but if I went into all the details you'd be reading this for hours. Suffice it to say, been there, done that.

Moving to L.A. in the early '90s was another trip altogether. I was teaching audio in a school (University of Sound Arts - U.S.A.) in the old Broadway building on Hollywood and Vine, as well as recording groups in our state of the art 24-track studio, as well as other major studios around town. I had to move to Phoenix to get into the movie business - who knew. In Phoenix, I worked on Albums and a movie soundtrack in the Producer's digital studio. This is where I got my first taste of video editing, editing all the songs for the movie into music videos, that is AFTER we recorded and mixed them. Indie studios are fun like that.

Following the movie gig I went to work with a photographer/videographer doing various jobs to honor our Veterans, till we decided to create a TV show. Out of a love for Arizona, we created Destination Arizona, which aired on a local indie station, AZTV. I was a videographer here as well as a Producer/Writer/Editor/ and post-production Supervisor for that show, You can still see all our segments on Youtube. We were the only independently produced TV show in their history to receive a .5 share of the ratings for that station.

Since them I have moved on to Northern California and am currently involved in audiobook production, audio dramas, directing small indie videos, operating cameras on high-end commercial gigs, and designing websites.

At present I am currently working on some scripts for a new TV show idea, watching tutorials on Trapcode suite for Adobe After Effects, creating a documentary on the Petaluma River, remixing and playing on a music album, and editing several music videos. Other than that I just sit around watching TV and twiddling my thumbs.

Unique traits: Easy going, detailed oriented, perfectionist, musician wrangler, part-time psych analyst, cut and past expert, Songwriter, Script writer.
