About Alon

As a writer, Alon is keen on tackling projects which carry strong social messages and that are backed up by a diverse cast and crew.

“Patron” was Alon’s debut film as writer and co-director. It marked his first attempt to tackle relevant social themes through genre storytelling, hyper-stylised filmmaking and experimental VFX. Patron premiered at Fright Fest, the UK’s biggest horror festival, and went on to play at other big festivals such as LIFF, as well as receive both widespread critical acclaim and multiple awards, including 7 for best picture.

Since then he has written four more shorts and eight long form projects, including six features and two complete limited series. These projects cover a range of genres and are all ready to read, along with log lines, synopses and pitch-decks. They have been written during a time when society is very much at a tipping point, and as such explore hot-button issues such as the crisis in masculinity, worsening race relations, the rise of inequality, our descent into tribal politics and the crumbling world order.

Alon’s cinematic influences include Kubrick, Kurosawa and Lynch, as well as many classical artists, but he is keen to push the medium forward, trying new cinematic techniques to enhance the themes and drama of his films.
