PUPPET TEARS

PUPPET TEARS
By Alexander Drake

GENRE: Comedy, Documentary
LOGLINE:

Dave Coffers earned his Masters in Puppeteering from UCONN before moving to New York to start an apprenticeship on Broadway, but he never expected to be covertly recruited by the Depart of Defense’s “Operation Flock,” using puppeteers to train a new breed of furry, floppy death machines.

SYNOPSIS:

Puppet Tears is in the style of other mock documentaries such as This Is Spinal Tap.

As a miniseries, it combines dark comedy, a four-way “love square,” and “conspiranoid” government thriller tropes.

Each episode will tell a portion of the mini-series.

Approximately 5-10 minutes per episode, with a total of 6-12 episodes in a one to two-hour production.

Teasers will hint at the ideal puppeteering career Dave wants.

Tags will show puppet warfare training, and setup the next episode’s serial government plot implications.

As a serial show, each episode chronologically follows our characters through a journey that begins with Dave being brought into Operation Flock.

It ends with the exposure of the military puppet initiative and Operation Flock, the defamation of Dave, his expulsion from the Hand Actors Guild (HAG), and the end of his career as a combat puppeteer.
