I'm Hayley Henson. Here's an update on where I am today! I came to Stage 32 in February 2019 as an eager television journalist in her late twenties with big dreams of trading in dayturn journalistic stories for longer-form fictional series and films. While I can't say that this has come to be, I can say that I've sat down with film directors and producers and received a dose of realism, "I had to struggle, so you have to struggle." Instead of giving up, I continued to forge my path. I have had stories captured in real-time air on a National broadcast network. I have single-handedly filmed, written, and hosted travel segments airing across the eastern United States. I co-created and hosted the first WFXR (FOX) Outdoors special in Virginia, Outdoors Bound. The program has since replaced the most lucrative sales-based program. Agricultural stories have been honored by the Virginia State Agricultural Division, garnering global attention. I'm also a National Center on Disability Journalism Award nominee.
I am a videographer, a scriptwriter, and on-camera talent. While serving as a Lifestyle Producer for daytime television, I truly enjoyed booking guests and scripting the show. As a Multimedia journalist, I met incredible people from all walks of life. No day was the same. As a humanitarian storyteller, my stories aid in garnering support to help the less fortunate.
So... WHY am I still here? As I age, my skills and knowledge improve, but also, I wrote a coming-of-age comedic series many years ago that I still believe would be a great hit today. Though my aspirations have shifted, I believe in the POWER of NETWORKING, and that rejection is God's redirection.
