About Christopher

Born in the States, mainly raised in Germany, trained in Germany, the UK and Russia, I would consider myself a citizen of the world - others might call me a vagabond.

Let me give you a bit more background to this statement: I was born in New York to German heritage parents. When I was almost four years old, they decided to live in Germany for a while. This “while” ended up being 30 years, during which I went to German school and university. However I was lucky enough to retain my American side by spending most of the afternoons and weekends with Armed Forces families. – I like to call this my “stationary army brat phase”.

My family wanted me to have security and be settled (a bit of a vain hope, considering I inherited their wanderlust), so I gave in to my geeky side and obtained a science degree equivalent to an MSc. I did work in the software industry for a few years but then my hitherto dormant passion for acting took over. Having researched my options, I chose to obtain MFA Acting degree from a British drama school – East 15 Acting School. This 2 year full-time course was among the best years of my life. It was designed specifically for international students so I had the privilege of working alongside talented people from all around the world – from East Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe and the Americas. I am proud to call these my friends and colleagues. The degree also offered modules at Shakespeare’s Globe and GITIS – the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts in Moscow. Naturally I made use of these opportunities.

After graduating I worked on film- and theater-projects in and around London and the rest of the UK for four years before deciding it was finally time to come home. I am now based in Los Angeles – which I chose over New York as I discovered a passion for screen work. The slightly more technical aspects of screen acting do appeal very much to my undeniable geeky nature.
(And after 6 years in England the weather is a nice change too…)

Unique traits: A clown philosopher tells mankind's wacky story.
