Charlie Keegan graduated from the University of Cape Town in 2008 with an Honours degree in Theater & Performance. He was the winner of the 2007 Fleur du Cap award for most promising actor. Charlie has featured in a number of TV commercials, theater performances (including touring with the prestigious Royal Shakespeare Company as Ferdinand in The Tempest alongside Sir Antony Sher) and stars in M-net's League of Glory series as Jonathan Grant.
In 2011, he played the role of Christian Roodt in Oliver Hermanus' Skoonheid which was chosen for the Official Selection at the Cannes International Film Festival. It won the Queer Palm award as well as the best South African feature at the Durban International Film Festival. It will also compete in the International Competition at the Zurich International Film Festival in September. The film will then travel to London, where it has been invited to have its UK premiere at the London Film Festival in October. The film also launches nationwide on French cinema screens on October 12.
Charlie has also done a number of modeling campaigns for numerous international brands including Hugo Boss, Abercrombie and Fitch, Levis, amongst others.
