By tracking down a bunch of bank robbers, a fortysomething spinster cop believes she's ready to give birth to her ex-boyfriend's unborn baby. 

SYNOPSIS:

When Mary Mapstone, a fortysomething spinster, stumbles upon a bank robbery and catches the culprit, she's promoted into a newly assembled task force team, lead by an old ex-boyfriend: special agent Marc Spellward, who's long on ambition, but short on scruples; in attempting to apprehend, the now infamously called, Devils:

three armed men, clothed in cassocks and dissembled in devil masks, attacking armored cars amidst a cosmopolitan city under construction, building a skyscraper to be unveiled by the Pope.

Spellward continuously slips from brilliant boss to bereaved ex-boyfriend; barely coming to terms with the abortion of his unborn baby. But clues to the Devil's identity lead right back to Mapstone's new boyfriend.
