I was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, a city in the Midwest with southern tendencies. I went to public schools in the neighborhood and graduated with a BS degree in Mathematics and MFA, Creative Writing. I did a stint in education as a teacher; I currently work in the field of IT. I started reading comics when I was seven or eight years old and fell in love with the genre ever since. When I wasn’t reading or listening to my mother’s old albums, I was like most kids playing, soccer, volleyball, football and sometimes basketball. Together with Christopher Carr started a company to help realize the visualization of the stories we wanted to tell. Our goal is to tell stories from the African Diaspora that have been heretofore left out of the mainstream.
