About Michael

Specializing in acoustic and orchestral music, Michael Klubertanz is a composer with a great stylistic versatility which enables him to find just the right tone for each project he devotes himself to. His strong conceptual approach is sure to deliver practical solutions for all possible tasks, thus making him a reliable and trusted creative partner. Classically trained, the german musician is working professionally as composer, conductor, arranger and pianist in a great variety of genres, perfoming opera, symphonic music and chamber music as well as works from the rock, pop and jazz genres. The swedish sample instrument company Precisionsound relies on his demos regularly. He is currently teaching at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts. In 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2014 consecutively his trailer scores for the features "Madness", "Redtail", "S 4 Superman" and "Unavailable" were awarded at the International Film Scoring Competition of "The Indie Gathering" Film Festival in the US. Having always been fascinated with film, it was only natural for him to express himself sonically in this medium. The ever-increasing number of scores he produces, documents his range of formats,from small, animated shorts, to feature length films.

It explores the psychology of attraction, the confusing dance of courtship and the rules of social convention. The film will bring to life the complexities of the period and evoke the hopeful, yet restrained spirit of the time in a visually arresting way. "Last Spring" is ultimately a film about hope and perception. It is told from the perspective of Sarah, who is struggling with her own insecurities, learning to take chances and pursuing her desires. The film will also be an extremely rich visual reference to the time period and transport the viewer back to the New York City of the 1940's.

ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that causes muscle weakness, paralysis and, ultimately, respiratory failure. There is no cure for ALS, and it is a terminal disease. ALS has touched many of our lives very personally and intimately. Our personal attachment to ALS has created a commitment to mobilize people towards finding a cure and ultimately defeating ALS. We believe our most effective way to participate in bringing awareness is by delivering an impact artistic message in the form of this short film.
