I am a freelance photographer, specializing in commercial subjects. A majority of my clients are Professional Performing Arts Companies. While I seem to be more in demand in Dance, I am equally skilled in Music, Theater, Opera, and Musicals.
My services include head shots, editorials, environmental portraits, studio photography for season brochures/media, and capturing a production. I know what the stake holders (producers, talent, designers, creators, and marketing) of a production are looking for, and can provide strong images that meets everyone's needs.
I have been associated with the performing arts since childhood, and have a keen sense of aesthetics. I "get" most of the art in the first experience, and on rare occasions I have have to educate myself. Clients appreciate my eye, sense of timing (both in movement and emotion), and my ability to capture the essence of a production, story, and character. I understand and appreciate the perspective of the stakeholders - from Marketing, to set/lighting/costume designers, to production, and the producers.
My work has appeared in national, educational, and international performing arts magazines. In addition to season brochures, playbills, posters, and the media, my work has also been used in textbooks.
I enjoy the work on stage to the degree that I will capture productions just for archival and sheer pleasure/practice. I do not use or license unpaid projects, but if I have free time and there is an interesting production I can shoot, there is nothing more I enjoy than capturing it. These days I rarely attend a dance, theater, or opera without my camera. I prefer to skip productions I cannot photograph.
I am also a skilled massage therapist, specializing in improving pain, postural, and functional issues. I do not provide relaxation massages. Please visit my web sites or follow me on Facebook (neoworldman).
