A bitter, wheelchair‑bound veteran, Dennis Quintana, and a recovering addict, Cleo Nicolosi, form an unlikely alliance against a broken system, forcing a tragic sacrifice that allows one life to end in redemption so another can finally begin anew.
SYNOPSIS:
QUINTANA follows Dennis Quintana, a bitter, volatile Vietnam veteran in his early seventies, confined to a wheelchair and at war with nearly everything around him—his neighbors, the Veterans Administration, the government, and himself. Living on the edge of
eviction and drowning his rage in alcohol, Dennis believes the VA has cheated him out of disability money long owed. His refusal to submit, combined with his explosive temper, turns routine encounters into confrontations that spiral into chaos, drawing unwanted attention from authorities and the media. After a near-fatal encounter, Dennis is reluctantly pulled into the life of Cleo, a tough, working-class woman barely holding herself
together while fighting to regain custody of her young daughter. Cleo is the daughter of Dennis’s fallen wartime friend, a connection that reopens wounds Dennis has spent decades trying to numb. Their uneasy alliance becomes transactional at first—money promised, help exchanged—but slowly evolves into something more complicated:
mutual recognition between two damaged people who understand loss, guilt, and survival. As Dennis pushes closer to exposing corruption within the VA and Cleo faces the brutal realities of the court system, both are forced to confront the cost of their anger and frustration. Quintana is a darkly funny, raw character drama about broken systems and the fragile possibility of redemption when two lives collide at rock bottom.
