Hailing from the vibrant city of Medellin, Colombia, Santiago J. Safra is an American writer and director.

Santiago Xaramillo de Safra y Andrade was born to Sephardic Jewish parents of Spanish and Portuguese ancestry. He served in the U.S. Army and is a combat veteran with deployments to Israel, Iraq, and Kuwait. His unique experiences and diverse background make him a storyteller like no other. Safra earned the Bachelors of Fine Arts in Filmmaking from New York Film Academy and selected for fellowship with the Writers Guild Foundation.
