SYNOPSIS:

When Lauren Griffin meets Dave Preston on Match.com she thinks she’s hit the jackpot. He’s handsome, charming, successful and oh so fun. After a whirlwind romance they marry and make their home in the tony Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles. He wheels and deals in high finance, she does whatever she wants. They live the lifestyle of the rich and famous.

On their third wedding anniversary he surprises her with a trip to Cyprus. The stay in a fabulous villa and he rents a yacht for a romantic day on the ocean. As the yacht unexpectedly catches fire they watch from their dingy in horror. Lucky for them Nicos, their driver, is waiting on the beach. He ignites the dingy and drags the charred remnants into the brush.

Lauren is in shock and confused. She doesn’t understand what’s happening. Dave tells her he’ll explain everything later. They drive to a secluded house in the hills and he informs her it is their new home. The fire was no accident. Apparently he’s in trouble with the IRS and his senior partner and needed to make himself scarce. But wait, there’s more. Fake passports and new identities. He’s not acting like the man she married because he’s not. He’s a raving sociopath and she is now his captive. He’s implicated her in his scheme. Now she must fight for her life.

When a man, Jack Sinclair, posing as an old acquaintance shows up and recognizes her she enlists him to help her kill her husband. He’s not really up to the challenge because he’s actually a private detective who’s been hot on Dave’s trail. If he can’t help her she’ll just have to take matters into her own hands. When Jack falls in love with her she spins him into her web of duplicity. With Dave dead she’ll control the money and her own destiny. Now Jack becomes the victim as Lauren’s persona evolves into that of her newly deceased sociopathic husband.
