About Josh

Josh Levine is a stage and screen writer with the heart of a golden retriever and an unhealthy obsession with funny women.

For his work in film & television, Josh staffed on the Emmy-nominated PEN15 (Hulu). He previously served as Executive Assistant to actor-writer-producer Natasha Rothwell (HBO's Insecure), Script Coordinator on CBC/Pop’s binge-worthy SCHITT’S CREEK and as Writers' Assistant on the final season of USA’s PLAYING HOUSE. He produced the award-winning short film THE NEW 35, co-created the web series EXTRAS ON THE STRIP featured on WhoHaHa, and he was a finalist for the Warner Bros Writers Workshop.

For his work as a playwright, Josh received the Kennedy Center Mark Twain Prize for Comic Playwriting for his play HOMEMADE, and his play PERFECT was a Heideman Award Finalist. Josh’s plays have received over 15 productions around the country in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Dallas, among others, and his play, I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU, is published by Smith & Krause in The Best Ten-Minute Plays 2014.

Josh received his MFA in Playwriting from Rutgers University, where he was an Adjunct Professor of Screenwriting, and his BFA in Playwriting from The Theatre School, DePaul University. Josh is also a proud member of The Playwrights Union, a group of LA-based playwrights working in film and television.

As a new father of two and self-proclaimed Disnerd, Josh’s favorite pastime is whisking his husband and daughters away to Disneyland between naps.
