About Christiane

I'm based near Hamburg, Germany. I write in German, mostly. Started screenwriting in 2019, self-educated myself and completed formal training with the Masterschool Drehbuch in Berlin, Germany, in 2020. Before,
I worked with an internal marketing research company in Hamburg, Germany, for 20 years as a qualitative researcher talking to people (NOT working on questionnaires) setting up and conducting projects on topics ranging from making coffee to heart transplants. Loved the international bit especially, enjoyed the travel and the cooperation. My background is sociology (Ph.D. on a study of personal ads to see whether gender roles had changed over the past 40 years ... back then: not really)

My first TV movie (drama) is called 'Independence' and is set between 1968 and 1972 in Northern Germany and (then) Rhodesia.
Currently, I'm writing a contemporary drama miniseries about a supermarket employee fighting for equal pay titled 'Busy Petra'.
My mission is to write empowering female stories. Making women seen, recognized and valued.

Busy Petra Drama Just as Petra, a butcher shop saleswoman at risk of burnout, checks into a clinic on the North Sea, it turns out that she has been paid less than her unskilled colleague at her supermarket for years. At the clinic, the conflict-shy 52-year-old is suddenly forced to confront her deep-seated fear of rejection in the spiritual therapy group 'Power of 8' until, with the help of her fellow patients, she learns to follow her inner compass. She discovers her power and creativity and challenges her boss in the fight for fair pay for herself and her female coworkers.
