Hi fellow Stage 32 friends and family!
I would love to connect with filmmakers from all over the globe: hear your inspiring stories, what you are working on, and what you feel are the training challenges locally.
My name is David Zannoni and I work with Stage 32 on the international certification side. We have been closing some amazing partnerships in Europe, Latin America, Africa and Canada. Most recently, we started to work with the DGCINE in the Dominican Republic and the Independent Producers Organization (IPO) of South Africa, to make our certification available to their community members. Here is the very latest blog post about the partnership with IPO: https://www.stage32.com/blog/stage-32-now-certifying-the-international-p...
Beyond Stage 32, my expertise is Collection Account Management (managing the international revenues of indie film productions and the so called "waterfal" or recoupment schedule). I have been fortunate to do that on behalf of global powerhouse Freeway Entertainment. With Freeway, we cover 80%+ of global CAM business. We also do escrow, production accounting and residual payroll for US guild residuals (the latter, always in combination with setting up CAM for the project).
Other activities: I run my consulting firm Zannoni Media, where I work for global producer clients, and I am the delegate for the Mexican Chamber of the Film Industry (CANACINE) in Mexico's Caribbean state Quintana Roo, and in that capacity, I am also on board of the Playa Del Carmen Film Committee, as well as the Business Council of the Riviera Maya.
Do you see any potential synergies? Let's connect!

Expand commentJR Rodriguez, I understand where you are coming from. I have experience from the music industry where even the biggest stars such as George Jones was suddenly considered no longer able to create hit songs because he had somehow become too old. It was all nonsense but seems like the music industry is not the only one with a youthful mindset. I happen to be an 62 year old songwriter and scriptwriter who actually just started this year thanks to a happy accident. I feel the press of time not due to my age, but rather to having an incurable lung disease. I certainly wish you your happy ending.
