About Asante

Asante hails from small town Alberta where his passion for performance was born. Now having been a resident of Toronto for more than a decade, Asante continues his pursuit of acting, being privileged enough to take part in numerous television, film, theatre and educational projects. Such credits include Stargate, Taken, Mouthpiece, The world premiere of one of Tennessee Williams’ lost works, The Big Game, an award winning performance in the Fringe premiere of Grey and The Girl With Rose Coloured Glasses- an independent short film written, produced and starred in by Asante.

Asante is also a graduate from the prestigious Teacher Education program at York University as a history and drama major, and a proud member of the Toronto District School Board. As a committed and passionate mentor, storyteller, and social activist, he is excitedly anticipating his future in acting and arts education. When not teaching or performing, Asante spends his time reading, writing, traveling, playing sports, and composing music. Most recently, Asante has stepped behind the camera, donning the filmmaker’s hat, and with the help of several highly-talented fellow artists, has a few projects of his own on the way. Asante aspires to one day share his passions the world over, by teaching and acting on every continent.
