SANDRA SHEVEY IS A MEGASTAR INTERVIEWER who has interviewed over 500 major stars for publications in the USA, UK and abroad. Sandras sound archive reads like awhos who of Hollywood and includes stars from the silent era to date...Joan Blondell, Alfred Hitchcock, John Lennon, Jane Russell, Jack Lemmon, Walter Matthau and many others.
Sandra is looking for a pro bono home in Britain for the archive and also for a production company to work with her on developing a 25-part series about Hollywood and the Stars.
Sandra is also a pioneer film historian who devised courses on women and minorities in film at USC where she was a colleague of JR Taylor and Arthur Knight. Her essay Down With Myth America (NY Times 24 May 1970) was the first essay on the subject in an American and/or western newspaper.
Amongst Sandras most remarkable interviews is one with Lillian Sidney, MGM drama coach. Lillian was amongst those on Sandras board of directors, WFEP, before it was subsumed by WIF. Lillian agreed to allow Sandra to interview her for the LA Times. They worked together on an autobiography and Sandra has 20 hours of sound interview with Lillian about the evolution of MGM.
Sandra curates shows about Hollywood and Hitchcock using sound bites and also exclusive set stills.
