About Sherry

Sherry Landrum is Artistic Director of the Chattanooga State Repertory Theatre and the Professional Actor Training Program at Chattanooga State Community College in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She has won two “best director” awards from Los Angeles Drama Critics and a “best director” award from the Tennessee Theatre Association. Sherry has written two musicals with George S. Clinton. Smoky Mountain Suite was presented in Los Angeles, Crossville, and New York, and aired on PBS and the Gene Autry Radio Theatre. Chattanooga State Repertory Theatre premiered an Equity production of That Other Woman’s Child and was one of twenty-four musicals out of 400 submissions presented at the New York Musical Theatre Festival in 2008. She collaborated on the score for The Nutcracker Christmas Carol, a holiday musical spoof with Rex Knowles and Allan Ledford. She has written one musical (Book, Music Lyrics,) that has received a staged reading but is yet to be produced, Paradise Court.
Regionally, she has directed for the Oxford Shakespeare Festival (Mississippi,) the Garage Theatre (New Jersey,) the American Heartland Theatre (Kansas City,) the Pioneer Square Theatre (Seattle,) Stephens College (Missouri,) the Cumberland County Playhouse (Tennessee,) and the Chattanooga Theatre Centre
For ten years, Sherry served on the faculty of the New Actors Workshop, working closely with founders George Morrison, Mike Nichols, and Paul Sills. She is a proud member of SAG, AFTRA, AEA, SDC and the Dramatists Guild.
