Tommaso Urselli was born in Taranto, Italy and lives in Milan. The text Il Tiglio. Foto di famiglia senza madre (The Limetree. A Motherless Family Portrait), winner of the Fersen Prize and the Borrello Prize, was presented as a rehearsed reading in Milan at Teatro della Cooperativa in a season dedicated to Franco Basaglia; it was published in the issue n. 727 of Sipario Magazine, making its debut as a show directed and performed by Massimiliano Speziani; the production went on tour and played at the Castel dei Mondi International Festival, Andria. In 2010, Mr. Wallfit in Spaceless, a script series co-written with Luciano Boschetti. In 2010 In equilibrium, a Teatro Litta production performed by student drama groups during the Connections Festival, a project in collaboration with London’s National Theatre. In 2009, Esercizi di distruzione. L’importanza di chiamarsi Erostrato (Destruction exercises. The Importance of Being Erostrato), a Teatro Litta production, published in issue n. 758 of Sipario Magazine, winner of the Lago Gerundo Prize. In 2008, Piccole danze quotidiane (Little daily dances), made its debut at Pim Spazio Scenico, Milan. In 2007, Ma che ci faccio io qua – appunti per uno sconcerto sulla città (What am I doing here – notes for a (dis)concert(ment) on the city), Edizioni Corsare, directed by Paolo Trotti, at the Teatro della Cooperativa and at Teatro della Contraddizione. In the same year he edited the publication A proposito di menzogne – testi per Città in condominio” (Talking of lies – texts for Apartment block city), L’Alfabeto Urbano, Napoli, together with Renata Molinari and Renato Gabrielli. In 2006, Canto errante di un uomo flessibile (Wandering Canto for a Flexible Man), winner of the Fersen Prize for dramaturgy and published by Editoria&Spettacolo. He was involved in the initiative Città in condominio (Apartment block city) at Teatro Out Off from 2003 to 2005, writing a series of texts later published in the book Voci dalla città (Voices from the city). In 2002 he wrote La porta (The door), Tramedautore Festival 2002, Outis, Teatro Arsenale, Milan.
