By Michael K. Lanahan

GENRE: Action
LOGLINE:

A hick from French Lick (IN) loses his wrestling scholarship to a rich man’s son, falls in with adrenaline-fueled college students who set up a bling ring to pay their tuition and finance their lifestyle. Living the fast life is great until the Russian mafia muscles in and a senior L.A.P.D. detective hunts them down.

SYNOPSIS:

Our story begins with a high tech break-in at a Century City high rise. Two black clad and masked perps are chased by security to the roof where they jump off the ledge 27 stories up! All recorded by their Go Pro helmet cameras for their YouTube channel.

Wrapping up their base jumper's parachutes, Nina, 18, and Crash, 19, speed away in a black Ferrari.

A naive Indiana farm boy, Rick, 18, meets Nina at freshman orientation for Pepperdine. Rick is called to the Dean's office where he is coldly informed that his wrestling scholarship has been rescinded and given to a more deserving student… a rich man’s son who never wrestled in his life.

At a loss what to do, Rick is invited by Nina to go wakeboarding with her friends and is soon behind Crash's cigarette boat. He almost drowns but is saved by Crash.

That night the three go to a rave on the beach. It's like nothing Rick has ever seen, then the cops raid the party and Rick and Crash escape in the cigarette boat. Rick wants to wait for Nina, but Crash says she left with their friend George.

Crash wants to play a practical joke on a buddy. Wearing rubber Dracula masks, they break in to the friend's house. Rick re-arranges all the furniture on the first floor, while Crash takes the second floor. But unseen by Rick, Crash slips on a pair of gloves. Crash deliberately sets off the alarm as they leave and so they have to run to the boat and race off.

Rick crashes at Crash's house that night. The boys are rudely awakened by the Russian mafia. Last week Crash robbed the wrong house, Mr. Zukov's house, and has been ratted out by his fence. They are about to be executed. Crash fast talks. Shows Mr. Zukov the take from last night's job. Rick's eyes widen as Crash dumps the loot out of his duffel bag. Rick had no idea it was a robbery. Crash says they will work for Mr. Zukov in exchange for their lives.

At last night's crime scene, Lt. Jefferson, LAPD, is not a happy man. The Malibu cat burglars have struck again. And nothing makes any sense - the furniture re-arranged and the alarm set off after the job?

After the goons have gone, Rick is furious with Crash, but Crash points out that he saved his life - twice. Rick agrees to do one job, steal back Zukov's wife's goose egg sized diamond that the fence sold to another big shot. Then, he's gone, swears Rick.

But Rick has fallen for Nina big time. And he now needs money for tuition. Pepperdine is not cheap. And the fast lane is alluring. After many more twists and turns, betrayals and double and triple-crosses, the no longer naïve Indiana farm boy will wish he never left the farm.
