I FEEL YOUR PAIN
By Stan Evans

GENRE: Other, Comedy
LOGLINE:

When a financially struggling journalist infiltrates a wealthy “Empathy Association” staging outrageous social justice simulations, her plan to expose their hypocrisy is complicated when she’s offered a lucrative leadership role — forcing her to choose between integrity and the very bubble she set out to puncture.

SYNOPSIS:

Jodi Schneider is a financially struggling journalist with a relentless “bullshit detector” and a habit of alienating coworkers with her moral absolutism. When she stumbles upon the Empathy Association — a group of wealthy Beverly Hills women staging elaborate “social justice simulations” to perform their compassion — she sees the perfect exposé. Led by the charismatic and obliviously self-righteous Bryn Harper, the group reenacts everything from border crossings to climate apocalypse scenarios, all while insulated by privilege and personal jets.

Determined to expose their hypocrisy, Jodi infiltrates the organization. But as she gains Bryn’s trust and is offered a lucrative leadership role within the foundation, the line between observer and participant begins to blur. The money could save her marriage and her mounting debts — and for the first time, she experiences the power and belonging she once resented. As the simulations grow more outrageous and the stakes more public, Jodi must decide whether to publish the truth and burn it all down, or embrace the very bubble she set out to puncture.
