About Rebecca

Family lore is that I've been a writer since age three, according to my sweet mom, who amazingly wrote down every ditty, poem or story I made up while swinging in the backyard of our bungalow in Manhattan Beach in the very early 1950's. I would then beeline inside and recite my verbal compositions to her. I still have proof: one of the old brown grocery bags upon which my mother wrote what I recited, which I then illustrated with my crayons. Mom was both an actress--actually taught by playwright William Inge, true story--and a natural writer.

In addition to having lifelong experience writing in various formats and for various outlets Including as a journalist on Capitol Hill for a daily publication in Washington, D.C., and script-writer with duties of production oversight for a number of commercial projects that were produced in the old Frank Zappa Studio in West Hollywood with talent Angie Dickinson and Jennifer Flavin (AKA: Mrs. Sylvester Stallone) and larger script/production project for Elite Model Management in Beverly Hills. As well, I was a writer/reviewer for many years for an internationally recognized publication that covered details of Direct Response companies (i.e., long and short-form infomercials) that I also reviewed: production values, scripts, dialogue, actors, etc. Fortunately, that wonderful experience not only taught me a lot about the industry, but, hurray!, it permitted me to pay tuition for my daughter to attend and graduate from UCLA! I'm also an active, healthy and delightedly-curious mom and grandmother, who is thankful for the joy of family, the great FUN of creativity, and the amazing colleagues I'm in touch with on this treasure of a site for creative support!!

Unique traits: Animal lover, laugh frequently out-loud when I'm amused (which seldom worries my analytical cat as she purrs through almost anything), super enjoy getting outdoors, love Jesus, love life, love to learn, and have an eduring love for the beauty of words in all their intricate dimensions.
