About Brian

Brian Fitzpatrick is an award-winning American author, screenwriter, and speaker.

Imagine being just 7 years old and accidentally watching the horror classic, Night of the Living Dead. For author, Brian Fitzpatrick, that’s precisely what happened. It became the catalyst for a life-altering path forward. After a week of sleepless nights, he became fascinated with the idea that he could be so scared, yet be perfectly safe. Fitzpatrick swiftly put pen to paper and has been creating horror and science fiction tales ever since.
Fitzpatrick grew up absorbing the works of Steven Spielberg, John Carpenter, George Lucas, Stephen King, Anne Rice, and Clive Barker. When not writing, he investigates the paranormal with his team of ghost hunters, enjoys cooking, and has spent a lifetime weaving imaginative stories for table top role-playing games.

For over a decade, Fitzpatrick turned his focus to screenwriting where he would go on to place in the quarterfinals in 7 competitions.

In 2017, Fitzpatrick converted his most popular screenplay, Mechcraft, into a novel. The sci-fi adventure was published in 2018 and received high reviews and 5-star ratings.
In 2019, industrial rock band, CHMCL STR8JCKT, reached out to Fitzpatrick and asked if they could write a song about Mechcraft. The end result became “Tendril and Blade,” a hard-driving song about the story’s villain, Sasha. The band released the song as their album opener on their new release, DRK PRGRSSN, on February 12, 2021.

In 2020, during the pandemic, Fitzpatrick finished writing the sequel, Mechcraft: Disruption, and found a new publisher. Black Rose Writing signed him on a 2-book deal. Not only did they want to release the sequel, but they wanted to re-release the original Mechcraft. And on May 4, 2021 both novels launched.

In January 2021, Black Rose Writing offered Fitzpatrick a 3rd book contract to release the final novel on November 4, 2021. Only problem is, the deadline to turn in the final manuscript had to be March 1st, and he hadn’t written a single word beyond the outline. Taking time off work and wiping his schedule clean, Fitzpatrick write an entire first draft in just under 4 weeks. He gave it one rewrite, then off to his editor, who dove in immediately. She returned the manuscript with notes in time for Fitzpatrick to give the book one final edit. And on March 1st, he turned in the final product for Mechcraft: Cataclysm.

Currently, Fitzpatrick has teamed up with actor/producer/writer, Gina Nemo, to create the pilot for a new science fiction TV series titled, Finch & Skull. The script is being shopped around Hollywood now.

Fitzpatrick resides in southern California with his wife, son, dog, cat, and 7 chickens.
