SYNOPSIS:

Inspired by the classic Vetala Panchavimshati (translated to Twenty-five tales of the Vetala), and paying homage to the rich history of gothic fiction, VETALA aims to enchant viewers with a unique blend of Medieval Indian horror and social commentary. The story is set in a golden age of Indian mythology filled with ornate temples and palaces, great kings and grand armies, and supernatural mysticism. The series structure is refreshing in that the 25 anthology stories are narrated by the Vetala to King Vikrama with the 25th being the actual frame story. In the heart of this anthology series lies the internal strife of a young king burdened by his crown and his growing relationship with a ghoulish creature who bears tests of justness for his newfound partner.
