About Kat

Kat Woodtli is a septilingual screenwriter of Czech and Swiss heritage and a stop motion camera assistant who has worked on Wes Anderson’s Fantastic Mr Fox and Isle of Dogs, as well as on Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie before venturing into screenwriting.

She holds a BA(Hons) in Film and TV Production and an MA in Cinema, Film and Industry both from the University of Westminster and a BA focusing on Creative Writing from the Open University. She has taught a Masterclass on “Camera Movement in Stop Motion Animation”.

Kat specializes in bringing to life amazing, untold stories about remarkable historical figures with a focus on women and the LGBTQ+ community. She is currently developing Driven by Desire, a feature script about Desiré Wilson, the first and so far only woman to have won a Formula 1 race. Her animated TV Series “Survival of the Fitzs'' caricatures the ridiculous expectations of modern-day motherhood. She has also contributed an episode to the kids’ animated TV Series “Firsts/Primeras'' about women who were firsts in their fields.

Passionate about traveling the world and different cultures, Kat speaks Swiss German, Czech, English, German, Italian, Latin, Spanish and is attempting to add an eighth language to her bow by learning Dutch. She is currently based in Berlin.
