SYNOPSIS:

P.S. Inc. (Pilot) Synopsis It’s the last teacher workday before Elixir Middle School opens for classes. An opening montage of the cast at home preparing themselves for the work day introduces us to the mixed bag of misfits of P.S. Inc. Elixir Middle School is due for state take-over if test scores don’t improve this year. We discover, Ned a veteran teacher wanting to start his own school because he sees no fundamental changes happening at Elixir. In opposition is Edward, a data driven believer in the system who tries to sabotage Ned’s dream at every junction. Lloyd, the school janitor as well as Esperenza, the head secretary, offer repose and motivation to Ned, our protagonist. Ned has already promised Lloyd and Esperenza jobs if and when the new school opens. P.S. Inc.’s (pilot) conflicts include the theft of Edward’s obnoxious cow bell by Ned and Jessica (our female counterpart) which Edward uses to signal class changes. A diarrhoea bomb in the teachers’ lounge causes Lloyd to initiate an investigation of the staff taking pictures of the “crime” scene and hanging Wanted Posters. Our principal, Herman, who doesn’t want to leave his office for fear of any conflict remains a constant factor throughout the series as does Ned’s desire to start a new school. The end of day faculty meeting finds our entire staff subjected first to a hula-hoop bonding activity then to the new addition exercise of hugging a fellow staff member and ending with Herman unveiling a life-size ceramic leopard, the schools mascot, with enlarged genitalia. P.S. Inc. delivers strong characters and real school issues in a hilarious view behind the doors of public education. The audience will find themselves laughing hysterically and cheering for our protagonist, Ned, who at times seems to be running out of hope. P.S. Inc. is a cross between Gilligan’s Island and Office. It is real and has an inescapable vortex. It’s a glimpse of hopeful change in a dysfunctional public education system filled with outrageous mole to mountain conflicts. We have thirty five years of experience as teachers. Hope you take a look at our pilot and we’ll be happy to share our outline for the series. Thank you. Chris and Jeff
