After a zombie outbreak, a journalist travels to a small town to investigate the disappearances of several women, only to find another more insidious kind of outbreak within.

SYNOPSIS:

Maya is a journalist from Washington, D.C. who arrives in a small town in Florida to investigate the disappearances of several women who were traveling through the area.

She finds resistance to her investigation from the local law enforcement, who see her as an outsider trying to blame their community for the missing women. The tension between the two becomes more apparent when the body of one of the missing women is found in The Wilds, the fenced-off areas of wilderness where the undead wander in the aftermath of a zombie outbreak.

When Maya finds evidence that some of the townsfolk may be involved in what happened to her, she is attacked and left for dead in the wilderness. But when she is able to protect herself from their attack, she turns the tables on the townsfolk and brings an army of hungry zombies back with her to seek vengeance on her attackers.
