Spent my whole career in finance and investment. Started writing after I retired. First a semi-autobiographical novel about a fraud that nearly brought down the London office of Bank of America.
The subject of this pitch is a script I wrote about a serendipitous event in pop history that launched the career of Quincy Jones and heralded the downward spiral of Phil Spector.
The pilot represents the first of a series based on real events in the Brill Building in the ‘60s. The music, the characters, the dramas. Each episode will feature the back story of one of the hit records that came out of the Brill, and the challenges & intrigue behind the production of the music. As highlighted in the pilot, the exploitation of young wannabes was a less pleasant aspect of life in the Brill in those days.
