Raelyn Munneke

As an award-nominated documentary director, I have traveled the world and captured stories from many walks of life through my career. I grew up in Oklahoma but ventured to the University of Texas to study film, and have since provided production to large brands like ESPN and Walmart down to small non-profits. My passion for story began as an Associate Producer for ESPNU documentaries, convincing not just the star quarterbacks to do an interview, but also the band member on the sidelines that had a story as well. The illumination of a person's spirit when I told them their story mattered was beautiful and that's the magic that drives my storytelling.

In 2017, I began a journey to create my feature-length documentary, Hog Town which challenged the community of Northwest Arkansas to examine its approach to outsiders. In 2022 Hog Town was honored with an Emmy nomination in the Mid-America Documentary Cultural category.

Also in 2022, I finished my first short screenplay, a comedy about motherhood. It received Second Round at Austin Film Festival and is moving into production. The first of many stories in development, including a feature, an episodic pilot, and an animation short.

With three kids life keeps moving quickly, but letting them see me work hard and providing them windows into the beauty of creativity and imagination are some of my greatest joys.
