About Sophia

Sophia Valera Heinecke is proud to be the Arts and Wellness Manager at The Creative Center as a multidisciplinary writer and artist organizer. With her passion for artist development and script supervision, she creates a synergy between the arts and health community and the world of new media and entertainment. Her career as a writer for the screen began in 2009 when she directed, wrote, and starred in We Fill The Void, which ran for two seasons on CPA-TV in her hometown of Charlottesville, Virginia. She attended NYU Tisch where she studied Dramatic Writing and received the John Golden Award for Best New Play. In 2016 she wrote her first feature, Trust Me, directed by Ananda Ferrari Ossanai. She recently collaborated with Ferrari Ossanai on a new short, Lunch Hour (2021). She currently consults with artists, entertainment companies, and community arts organizations in creative archiving, time management strategies, narrative development, and communication strategies.
