About Amy

Amy Malone is a public relations professional who combined her love for communications, and passion for people; turning them into a career that allows her to help others express their thoughts, shape their images and share their stories with target audiences.
She founded Girl in Charge Public Relations (GICPR), in 2005 after being an entertainment publicist for several years working with industry leaders such as Capitol Records, I.R.S. Records, Virgin Records, and CBS Television and noticing a lack of African American female representation in Hollywood. Now over 25 years later, she has worked with some of entertainments top A listers and expanded from entertainment to cause driven campaigns and corporate communications. In addition to working with her GICPR clients, Amy also serves as the Publicist and Director of Talent for the Pan African Film & Arts Festival (PAFF), one of the oldest and largest Black film festivals in the world.

Her goal is to always take advantage of opportunities to increase client brand, name and face/logo recognition. This done through carefully thought-out publicity campaigns and executed with precision from inception to completion. The approach has worked in placing client projects on the New York Times Best Sellers list, and on top of the Billboard Charts, as well as garnering them such industry accolades as NAACP Image Awards, Grammy Awards, BET Awards, and Stellar Awards.

Working with high profile individuals and organizations nationwide, she has built a successful career with clients covered by top media outlets such as People, Forbes, Essence, Billboard, The Hollywood Reporter, Time, Variety, and Black Enterprise to name a few. She has also been a key component in the planning and execution of high profile corporate and community events including the 92nd Annual National Bar Association and Conference, City of Compton Key to the City Ceremony: Kendrick Lamar, NBA All-Star Gospel Celebration and Awards Ceremony, Deveard & Devaughn Darling Football Camp and Tournament in Nassau Bahamas, Women of Color Unite Annual Gala and Awards Ceremony, Pan African Film & Arts Festival (PAFF), and the Ericka Nicole Malone Entertainment Indie Directors & Creatives Spotlight at Sundance Film Festival.

Passionate in her fight against racism, sexism, colorism, and any ism that discriminates against marginalized people. She advocates for women of color by volunteering her services and sitting on the boards of, Women of Color Unite (WOCU), Los Angeles African American Women Political Action Committee (LAAAWPAC), A Step to Freedom (ASF), and The National Council of Negro Women (NCNW).

Expanding her passion for writing and storytelling, Amy has moved into the creative space as a writer and producer, in addition to background casting. Credits include, Holly Day (talent coordinator, feature narrative), Remember Me: The Mahalia Jackson Story (BG casting, feature narrative), Untitled Documentary (producer, documentary), and Climbing (BG casting, music video).

Amy Malone has built her career and family on a strong spiritual foundation, which is the backbone to her success as a wife, mother, and entrepreneur.
